"i'm teetering on the edge of dropping this one... love the subject but it just ZOOMS through so much history that i can't properly sink my teeth into anything. also the prose is bland and does nothing for me. i also just read the intro to emily wilson's odyssey translation and was knocked off course by how much i love greek theatre. might have to eat some lotuses and come back to this one in 7 years." — Jul 21, 2026 11:28AM
