“Dear ---,

You are like that one piece of artwork in an art gallery that people spend a little longer admiring.

Rosa, UK.”
Will Darbyshire, This Modern Love

“Dear Mr. Future Crush,

Right now you are frustratingly just a figment of my imagination, something I daydream about in times of loneliness or boredom.

Before going to sleep I idly wonder what you’re going to be like, however that’s like trying to imagine a new colour.

So instead you take the form of a happy song, the smell of a cologne, the hero in a novel.

You’re a collage of all my happy moments and a sense of comfort during the sad ones.

It’s silly I know – even though we’ve never met I can’t help but feel a strange sense of longing and hope.

All I know is that whoever you are, you’re going to be amazing.

(Perhaps one day) yours,
___________

P.S. You better like pizza.”
Will Darbyshire, This Modern Love

“Vincent Van Gogh used to eat yellow paint because he thought it would get the happiness inside him. Many people thought he was mad and stupid for doing so because the paint was toxic, never mind that it was obvious that eating paint couldn't possibly have any direct correlation to one's happiness, but i never saw that.
If you were so unhappy that even the maddest ideas could possibly work, like painting the walls of your internal organs yellow, then you are going to do it. It's really no different than falling in love or taking drugs. There is a greater risk of getting your heart broken or overdosing, but people still do ir everyday because there was always that chance it could make things better.
Everyone has their own yellow paint.”
Alexandra Timmer

“You're my moon, my stars, you're my sunrises and sunsets. You're the crisp mountain air, the first layer of snow, and that steady rainfall after a humid day. You're just everything.”
Will Darbyshire, This Modern Love

“Dear You,

You’re so beautiful. Your smile, your eyes, your lips, your hands, everything. Did you know that you play in my mind like one of my favourite song lyrics, you sting my heart like after eating a bowl of hot soup. You know me but I don’t think you see me, I see you for one, I see you like no other, I see you so often your image never leaves the remains of my brain. I wish you see me, I wish you remembered me. I wish that you could see me the way I see you. I see you for you and that is the you that I love, but please can you see me too.”
Will Darbyshire, This Modern Love
