“Take me away to a
Deep-wood cabin;
Hide me from these
Carbon skies.

Bring me back my
Paper boats;
Save me from these
Virtual highs.

Show me all the
Hippie trails;
Rid me of these
Dollar-sign eyes.

Help me recall my
Childhood laugh;
Make me forget these
Urban lies.”

“Keep your feet rooted in the ground,
stay humble, maintain your balance,
because life is a seesaw ride,
the world will lift you high,
make you feel dominant and
give you an illusion of flying,
while it stays down
on the other side of the fulcrum,
with absolute control over you,
ready to throw you off
your floating pedestal of conceit,
and you'll never see it coming.

Don't trust the world
with that kind of power.”
― Akash Mandal

“Her despairing mind
searches for the thorns
on her floral print dress.”
― Akash Mandal

“November Haiku:
No good November
lays a red carpet of leaves
rains on its parade.”
