“Like the sinister creatures that hide in basements or the demons that lurk in dark woodlands, shadowy forces constantly threaten to lure the goodness out and let the evil in. Calls for more stringent rules and a tightening of regulations are understandable and inevitable but the weight of evidence shows that the scary monsters and super creeps are already ‘out there’ in the world. Movies are mirror visions of the terror, not the cause.”
