David Alexander Perhaps we have read the most beautiful book and after all our wonderings we will come back and see it for the first time.

Hend yeah,very inspiring...
u can reread and understand it in a different way.for me, mystic books for example , have a lot of deep meanings ,and symbolism that every time i read,i learn more and i find something i missed last time.

but,u know Arabic David?
or u have gone to Google translator?
:)

David Alexander Yes, I know it. I am trying to broaden my experience of Arabic literature which is still quite modest, and to strengthen my grasp of the language as well. I just finished Naguib Mahfouz's Midaq Alley in Arabic but it took me a very long time. There is so much to explore. I enjoy looking at the books you discuss in Arabic because it gives me ideas or notions of what perhaps to read.

I was thinking of a portion from Little Gidding in T.S. Eliot's Four Quartet's: We shall not cease from exploration
And the end of all our exploring
Will be to arrive where we started
And know the place for the first time.

Hend Great!
:)
i will be glad to help u in Arabic ,but i see u are already good at it:),don't be shy to ask me anything u need.

if u like to read short stories in Arabic i would recommend محمد المخزنجى
he has a deep philosophy in his books, i enjoyed what
he sees in an idyllic world, with all varieties of animals and trees,he love everything surrounding us,however he has somehow a pessimistic look to life, having imprisoned for a false accusation of being a communist.

u could find some his books free online,if u cant i will send u the link.

and other one of my favorite authors,is مصطفى محمود
an Egyptian philosopher,u can find some of his books also free, but most of his books are about Islamic philosophy,if u are interested to know about it.
