Ah...the pros and cons of arrogance. I think healthy confidence comes from facing rejection over and over again and continuing to try and have empathy for yourself and others. It is also realizing that others' spoken and unspoken opinions -or gossip- doesn't define you in any way. When people are cynical toward you, they are projecting the qualities they despise or love about themselves. Once you know and live these simple truths, you are free. Always remember to be vulnerable even when it's been used in a spiteful way toward you.
