Great six part series. The final volume was quite informative, even though it covered material I was familiar with.
One curious omission stands out- covering various cultural aspects of the century, Ackroyd expounds on several comedy troupes (I’d never heard of any of them)- but not Monty Python- arguably the most quoted comedic force of the last half century. The Knights of Ni would be aghast!
