The chapter on Dinosaurs is a bit of a stretch for inclusion in this book about queer rep on sitcoms imo but the context and real world issues that Matt wanted to discuss (the rights of same sex partners) are worth the 20 minute chapter audio about this baffling show. Could have used a more relevant Golden Girls episode to illustrate this point but that chapter was already 45 minutes long.

Can’t believe his editors forgot the Julian calendar existed when talking about a 10 day date discrepancy in 1635. The UK and US didn’t switch to the Gregorian calendar until 1752 so the Plymouth colonizers would have been documenting the Colonial Hurricane of 1635 in Julian dates. Smh

I love the history of this area so much. I’m glad there’s an accessible book surveying several major New England storms. I’m only 1/3 through but there are storms I had never heard of before in here that have clearly affected the area for decades and centuries to come (looking at you, 1911 heat wave).
