Ummm… is this going to be one of my favorite books of the year?? A random, October Amazon First Reads? A *dark* Amazon First Reads 👀 But the romance… and the suspense, and the mystery! Best First Reads in a while.

SO GOOD. The language that this book gives to the depths of relationships!! Whew! Can’t really contain my elation of how nourishing this book is. Looks like nonfiction really will be taking over my top books of this year.

Riley Sager is always a wild ride. Buckling up…

So far this has shades of N. K. Jemisin’s The Fifth Season….inhospitable earth, an odyssey to find a missing child taken by the husband, a relationship with a sea captain…

Not sure how I’ll ever get through this audiobook when I’m pausing constantly to write basically everything down 😂 At this point I need to just get the physical book, too! Really good!!

Okay, what is happening to me? A romance that I actually like? 🥺

I had no idea what I was getting into with this book, but I’m obsessed. And I can already tell that I will now be reading everything that David Arnold has written.

Most of the book is not set in the escape room. The majority is the backstory of a different character. Really more of a book about the ugly side of a company than it is about a deadly escape room.
