The first 3% immediately made me unclench on a party invite I’ve been going back and forth on. Nice start

“Names have no meaning. If you want to get my attention, just think of me. That should be enough.”

“Give sorrow words; the grief that does not speak whispers the over fraught heart, and bids it break - Shakespeare”

Already breathing easier knowing the author was more than a decade older than me when it happened

“Idling always has been my strong point”

Experiment with changing/challenging your beliefs

How?

By accepting the fact that ***you don’t know what you’re talking about***

Test new hypotheses

Paraphrase: Don’t marry until you’ve done everything you can, and until you’ve stopped loving the woman, until you can see her clearly

“Nothing is so necessary for a young man as the company of intelligent women”

Gratitude radiates creative energy

Complaints, requests, and demands 1. Create excess potential and delay action resulting in concentration of energy , 2. Are the creations of pendulums aimed at harvesting energy

Cause of all problems = Projected excessive importance

Ignore, not avoid the frequency. Let it pass by

Everything you encounter should be treated like paintings in a display at an exhibition

Need to break free from the pendulum of beautiful Latinas around me lol

Chapter 1: The only freedom we really have is the freedom of choice

Yo mazalie is coming drucella up!!! Haha

Chapter 162 and the last few chapters just hit so perfectly and comfortably

I had maybe the best conversation with a stranger today omw from atl to Knoxville and I’m hopeful that she’ll message me and despair is running circles around and this book reminded me that despair and hope are twins just like her and me. Hi angely

“Fortune i do not want; employment i do not want; consequence i do not want.”

Girl same minus employment is nice as long as it’s chill ;)

“I was happy in the various company of my friends and, my heart filled with Amy memories of the past, I regained in spirit, at least something of the glow of youth. I thought I should be a fool to allow work to interfere with a delight in the passing moment that I might never enjoy again so fully.”

Relatable

As resonant lines to me have seldom been written, another is where Emma says she doesn’t wanna work

I’m just like emmas dad for real, hate change, cry when people go, etc

Childishness comes almost as naturally to a man as to a child

Hehe

I just tonight learned of the word homie-sexual and tchitchikov and manilov are giving it with their arm in arm walk to the court for the deeds etc

Only by playing the role of your enemy does your opponent become your true friend

Makes me think about the concept of lila - a spontaneous play organized by the creator with humans as the play things/actors

Leave self 1 behind!!

10% through lolita and what was nabakov i mean humbert on bruh

Listening to audiobook read by an emma and I was so confused
