Michael B Tager is starting Star Wars: From a Certain Point of View (From a Certain Point of View, #1)
You have to like short stories & probably best to like Star Wars, but I loved this. Some of the stories are better than others, obviously, but by and large they're tremendous. Some of the stories got me really quite sad. I was shocked that Nnedi Okorafor's piece "The Baptist" about the trash monster hit me in the feels, HARD. So good.

Also exceptional: Older's "Born in the Storm" and McElroy's "Stories in the Sand."

Anyone else misplace books right when you get to the good part and then want to cry? Right in the middle!

Not going to finish. Oddly sexist and racist, even if it's wink-wink, nudge-nudge. And it's ludicrously sexual without being sexy. No thanks.

The later chapters have been kind of racist and they've ALL been sexist. It's um ... interesting.

I've been reading this, just slowly, in between other books. It's all short stories and novellas, so there isn't a narrative driving me to finish. I like this new approach to reading compilations.

Turning the corner. Two more stories left and I'll be finished. The Turn of the Screw is 100 pages, but it's supposed to be awesome!

I'm getting there. Just finished The Aspern Papers. Only three novellas (and 185 pages) left!

Reading Henry James is slow going. It's good, but dense and not a page turner. You pretty much know where the story is going and are just waiting for it to get there. But hey, Daisy Miller and Washington Square are done, Aspern Papers, nearly so! At this rate, I think another month should do it!
