I read the first chapter of Upright Women Wanted and all I can say is .... gimme.

An inspiration to me as an interwar historian, Arthur Schlesinger’s The Crisis of the Old Order untangles the crippling aftermath of the Great War and the raucous 1920s consumerism. An entertaining economic history (!!), this was a bright light in the midst of my daunting Comp exams.

Leigh Bardugo is in charge of Fairy Tales now. I’m sorry, I don’t make the rules.

The Language of Thorns is a tricky, freaky approach to the genre. In this treasure of works, witty banter is free-flowing, hearts are true and, while the journeys are painful, character wins the day

Magic, transformation and a little bit of wonder, that’s Joe Posnanski’s Harry Houdini. Oh, and there’s a ghost. Posnanski takes a gentle look at Houdini as chameleon, and at a different age, one where it was possible to reinvent your origins, change your name, hustle your fate.

OMG King of Scars is glorious!!!
I expected this to be amazing and it it did not disappoint. The depth and richness she builds into the #Grishverse always continues to amaze me. It sucks you in and doesn’t let go. (LOVE Nina, by the way!) Can’t wait for more.

So intriguing, this world of ghosts. And sad. This one is going to break my heart, I can tell already. It turns out giving your pie money away is the sweetest thing you can do.

In the meantime, loving Delia, she’s the woman I want to be when I grow up and die.

So far, intrigued. As always, Seanan's writing sucks me in.
