Takes a bit to open up but soon won’t let up its pace... causing many a “just one more chapter” moments and housework that just gets tabled.

New, shiny and still awesome. This book starts off quite different than the rest in my opinion, but is excellent at introducing new characters, reviving old ones and continuing the swashbuckling adventures of the Roci.

Gut-wrenching to this point. The sinking feeling of “goodbyes” that anyone who reads long series knows, I mean, DEEPLY UNDERSTANDS is part of the ride, keeps galloping towards me. I can’t help but think this is King’s most naked & unashamedly honest statement of what it means to be human that he has ever wrote. Yes, I do see this more of him recording legend than someone telling a story.

The worst feeling is the feeling of having to say goodbye... while happy to be making my way to the end of this tale(quest), I am sad to be putting these characters and their drive and passions behind me. Onward...toward the clearing we march...

So far really enjoying this book... interesting concept and fun execution. A quick escapist jaunt that keeps you snickering at the all too familiar tone of the main character (or maybe I just curse a lot so I relate to her...)

Yeah, this ride is going to be fun (and again, even though I'm still kicking myself for not reading it before.... I'm thoroughly enjoying my first read and loving the characters, storyline(s) and style....)

Moving on in the journey...

Nothing better than en epic journey while camping .... still unsure as to why I didn't read this while in my "King Phase" but happy I picked them up now :)

Excited to start this and surprisingly I never read when I was in my high school 'King Years'... I read all the horror, but had not gotten into fantasy or SciFi or even thought of a mashup! After reading 3 paragraphs of the forward I said out loud "WHY HAVEN'T I READ KING IN LIKE 20 YEARS?!?" Looking forward to the story...

So far, I am VERY intrigued....

An ok series... Great concept and a quick read. When I don't care about immersive reading and escaping to a lush environment, books like these are great. When I explain the premise it sounds brilliant to everyone, but I'm just left with a meh feeling when I read. Again, great concept, just not very engaging in its style...

the resolution is sweet and sorrowful at once.

Different and GOOD. So far, and unexpected beginning to a series that has been beautifully written and beyond expectations for the genre.

On to book two :)
