Came for an amusing tale of a boy and his dog vs. The Devil. Stayed for the unexpected lessons in physics, the Large Hadron Collider, blackholes and wormholes, and scholastic philosophy.

I gave this two stars originally, but that was based on my fuzzy rememberings of how I felt about it after it was required reading in high school. So I'm giving it a re-read and I'm expecting it'll actually rate higher now that I have a bit more life experience and social awareness to properly appreciate the horror of Atwood's Gilead dystopia. 🤷‍♀️

That awkward and slightly embarrassing moment when I realize I haven't actually read the original Northanger Abbey and I have no idea what to expect now...oops.

While this book is amazing and literally, laugh-out-loud funny, I've discovered that an airplane may not have been the best place to start reading it.
