Slow to read this one because I’ve been stressed the f out and also the narrator just doesn’t sound like Severian anymore. Probably because he’s like a thousand people now, but I think it’s also an unintentional change in the writing style

Catching up on reading while in Sandy Eggo. Finished Sword of the Lictor, enjoying Citadel of the Autarch more so far

This “non-Culture” Culture novel is turning out to be one of the best ones yet in the series imo

Read this the second year or so of grad school, but re-reading in preparation to finally complete The Book of the New Sun many years later

Mucha drama in the Savage Garden

I appreciate Han Kangs work but I picked maybe exactly the wrong book to read this weekend…

I went into this book not understanding why Edward liked Bella, and now I don’t understand why she likes him. He crabby af and a creep too

Time to leave the US lmao. But really good to see an accessible explanation of why US democracy has failed to modernize and actual concrete solutions via proposed reforms

Reading slowly and literally taking notes

Super interesting and good so far but also I’m mad for obvious reasons

Middle of the book was dragging for a while, but getting more interesting again. Book was more exciting at first with the introduction to the mad city, Bellona, and I found the interaction between the characters more engaging, and also enjoyed the poetry. These latter two elements are now returning again

Difficult to get into for the first 50-100 pages, but very engaging, experimental novel

This book is a masterpiece, and the best work from Margaret Atwood I have read so far (which is saying a lot, as her books are excellent!)

Margaret Atwood is such an amazing writer as always!! I enjoy every sentence

A lot of exposition but I enjoy the Culture universe

I am relieved that Lowry entered Area X and I no longer have to read his excruciatingly written inner narrative

They kidnapped the ex-Jesuit priest and are forcing him to return to the alien planet of his physical and spiritual violation shiiiitt

Such an engaging and creative book! Thoroughly enjoying it, best book I have read all year

On the final section on letting go of the past and healing
