I am a big fan of this book and also of knowing the person you're thinking of marrying really well before you marry them!! Whew!!

Name me anything better than when a book is gay and emotional and well-written. Impossible

This is very good but whew is it bleak!!

This is my favorite book of the year so far!!! Whew!!!

Her children being named Clementine, Stetson, Samuel, Jessa, and Junebug is just perfect. Yikes!!!

So struck by details like "She had a glass of water. She drank from it" because to Isabel possession is an end in itself!! It has to be specified that having and using are different actions!! And even when she does act on the things she possesses, she does so begrudgingly, drinking FROM it, only having a little, so that she can still hold on to it in a more fundamental way. Gnawing at the bars of my enclosure here

This book blew me away when I first read it and I'm loving re-reading it!!! I'm not often a re-reader but it's so wonderful to both experience it with fresh eyes and to appreciate it in a different way now that I know what ends up happening!!! Isabel you tightly-wound freak (affectionate) I'm so happy to see you again!!! I know what will happen and you don't!!!

Love this series, love these characters, love this audiobook narrator (Charlie Flyte), frothing at the mouth for this book to be out in the world and to get my hands on a hard copy with maps!!

Fn love when you don't know a book will be in parts and then suddenly there's PART TWO with a whole new group of characters and you have to wait to see how it all fits together!!!

books are the coolest thing in the world because if you had asked me if I would ever read a thousand-page Western I would have said "no way, no how, pardner" but I am LASSOED
