Nice concept but very very slow paced.

Loving this plot line so far. It was intriguing from the get-go. But I am REALLY rooting for Dain and not the king….which sucks, bc so far this book has been a bit predictable even if it is interesting.

What is the point of the trials anyway? Why does Rowan need to win so badly? It does t make sense. She’s not really at odds with Orion. They suck at being enemies. I don’t see the pull of the plot, even if it is interesting to read. Wish there was more to it.

Very interesting plot so far…fun read, yet irritating at the same time. Rowan and Orion could be much better enemies. It would heighten the steamy tension between them far more than it is now.
Rowan is such an annoying unsound character, lacking strong will and strength. Ugh she’s good predictable and boring. Wish the other new characters had more depth.

Yesss…the aria I respect has finally awoken

Aria is annoying. Aurora is awful. The only character that is being reasonable yet strong
Is Esme.

Veil is still annoying. Pace has picked up faster than in the first book. Holding my interest better.

Oof this is a painful read so far. At this point, we still don’t know the “big secret” In Veils previous life. The plot still hasn’t quite manifested. And Veil is over the top angry all the time…and I don’t even care why anymore.

It’s a slow start. Not much chemistry between the main characters. Plot seems simple enough, not sure if it’ll hold my interest. The guardianship of Heather and Remy is a bit strange. She behaves like Remy is a child, which is annoying.

Really fast paced, interesting read this far. Wren is a bit over the top with her aggression and it makes her seem very juvenile. The alcoholism is also not pleasant to read about….but makes her a real person with flaws. So far no sexual tension whatsoever between lead characters. No real chemistry at all between them.
