Does CJ Box normally establish his characters, regardless of gender, as viewing women as cliche and sexist stereotypes??

I chocked it up to character after the first dozen passes, but then it seemed every character despises or doesn’t respect women.

Just over halfway through but this is easily one of the most emotionally difficult (but incredibly educational) books I’ve ever read.

Difficult to stomach.

Disgusted with myself that it’s been a year and a half since I last read this trilogy.

Am I supposed to be laughing this much? I have no idea what I’m supposed to take away from this literary classic, but the main character is hysterical.
