So far, I find this book less enjoyable that the previous two. I do not see the purpose, other than pedantry, to bring gender dysphoria into the story. It plays no meaningful part in the story and stands out as simply a pacification toward a demographic from which the author desires admiration. If the topic of gender fluidity played a meaningful role in the plot, I’d welcome it. As it does not, it seems awkward.
