Love this kind of humor where the internal monologue fights with the characters impulsive dialogue lol

I suspect many will find this book to be the weakest in the series thus far, myself included. While it’s certainly enjoyable as the rest have been, it also seems to require having read the weapons and wielders series, which I frankly have negative interest in. I think the complexity of this story, and universe requires far more online resources than is currently available

It truly feels like history is repeating itself.

I’ve enjoyed this so far, but the praise of working was…interesting. I’m not sure how I feel about it. But I did find it to be definingly 19th century American

I don’t typically read books like this. But chapter 18 was wild 👌. Better than the whole last book possibly lol. Although as someone in my own grumpy/sunshine and bear/former twink romance; this is also pretty relatable

I’m enjoying this way more than the last one (which I was already surprised to generally like). I have some problems with it - mostly genre related - but there’s a lot to enjoy with this one. I also wanted to make this update because chapter 19 had the funniest so far in this serious with Sheldon spilling the tea to his boss by accident.

Reading to see if this works as a recommendation to my TT followers and students. This does a good job at articulating the way myself and others with higher degrees in Literature tend to read

A Christmas gift from my brother

I don’t typically enjoy romance, but this book has been really working for me. But I just read a part that hit so hard for me, that wasn’t even about the romance part of it. Being arab American and talking about your family’s history… The author does exceptionally well at capturing the feelings. I had to put it down for a moment cuz it felt to real to my childhood. Loved this part.

Okay but the 5 year old playing matchmaker is iconic 🤣

I’m pretty into this, but the obliviousness of the protag is killing me lol

Saw this recommended on TikTok and thought I’d check it out. Not always the biggest reader of romance but been in the mood lately. My nesting partner used to work as an infant/toddler teacher, so this book is already reminding me of some of his stories lol

Been rereading with ash

Mostly just reading cuz my fiancé is, and I’m interested in the books he picks up. Also it seemed like it was going to be bad self-pub writing which had me intrigued lol. I’ll probably stop reading once it gets creepy. But so far it is extremely poor writing in a funny way that is unintentionally enjoyable haha

The showdown with Magnus at the beginning was great! It also made me think about one of the things I love about this series. The comradery is similar to other fantasy groups where they would do anything for each other. But there’s something about the way they defend first and ask questions later. Like Roland in book 1 fighting for corin after not speaking in years. It’s brilliant and moving every time.

I’ve really enjoyed this but it’s something I only really read in spurts. I might place it in DNF for a while and come back to it later

It’s picking up thankfully. Although Billie’s relationship with “new” things is eh. I like her internalization of it “I hated it even more for making me feel like a dinosaur in my own job” (64). But her complaint of change is a legitimate one - which makes sense if it was a capitalistic reason for change but otherwise change is usually indicative of progress. Idk how to feel about it yet exactly though

Someone said this might be better as movie than a book, and so far I have to agree. I realllllly do not like the flashbacks. They aren’t bad but it’s just not what I was looking for with this book. I hope the main plot picks up as it goes on

Idk how I read so much of this so fast but also still feel like I have no idea about his life or the political situations surrounding it.


I wish part of this biography would also explain a bit more about the war situations that Bin Laden was involved in because glossing over those details make certain beliefs and politics of Bin Laden hard to understand

Okay I wasn’t sold on this at first because it seems like just a parody of SAO. But Rowe is always subverting stuff and now I think that these guys are going to QA testers for a death game like SAO, which is much more appealing and interesting
