Part through the adventure of wisteria lodge and you know what…. Kinda racist?? Ffs a terrible start and making me rethink all my decisions and obsession with these books.

I, for one, am loving this book.

I’m tired rn but this book is GREAT!!! And coming after the classic that is ‘the hound of the baskervilles’ is crazy bc it just emphasises how shit the other book is???

We go again 🗣️ finally done with that bloody dog book before… 15 pages in and this book already feels miles better! A cypher, a Scott, and Watson lusting for Holmes’ praise - what’s not to love :)

Honestly not a great book. Both protagonists are awful people and awfully written.

I get it, a sociopathic protagonist is not going to have good takes. However the use of mental health issues as a trope for villainy is just soooo tiring. Be more creative I beg.

Also boohoo Ryan your life is shit. GROOMING A 14 YO GIRL WAS STILL A CHOICE. ‘But it wasn’t sexual’ it was still fucked up.

This book is annoying

I usually devour John Marrs books, but this one just isn’t hitting the right stop atm - maybe the topic is just a bit too loaded (not like his other books are sunshine and rainbows) but a sick twisted narrator 100% of the time is doing my head in.
