After visiting the Stanley Hotel in Estes Park and watching Kubrick's film, how could I not immediately read this? Can a book be too "wordy"?

What fun! This reads like a classic Perry story, with all the muscular martial arts, compelling characters, phenomenal futurism, and struttin' style that you'd expect from the author. I'm also enjoying the Matador setting that's not connected to the other stories from that universe.

Definitely helpful to have read the prelude novella before tackling this one.

Not wild about books that are mostly flashbacks, but it's interesting nonetheless.

Reads a lot like Sphere by Michael Crichton, only with Curran's signature trademarks.

Good stuff. No idea what it's building up to. The POV changes between the two main characters are confusing.

It took about a hundred pages, but things are finally happening. So far it's shaping up nicely.

An excellent cleanser after a pretty terrible Alien 3 adaptation.

This book has a great opening, with a new setting that's like something out of Mad Max or Metro 2033...only with a pretty rad twist. Off to a great start!

Quite a book thus far. Not a nail-biter by any means, but the author really makes you care about the characters and their development.

I don't read ANY fantasy, but this book comes recommended. So far, great writing and a slow paced story, but still pulls you in. Loooong book.
