Good start.

Humans are such narcissists! All about the humans very little about me the octopus.
Book is on pause.

Almost halfway and little octopus. The cleaning lady was injured so she’s not cleaning at the aquarium for now. So less octopus.
The cast of odd characters is kinda like a hiassen novel but not as good.
Where is this going?!

I’m 127 pages in and there’s hardly any octopus! Setting things up shouldn’t take this long in non-lit fic.

So far I’m not getting the sense of loss that critics say is so well channeled by this book.
In fact it’s possibly a good example of the bad state of literary fiction today?! Just an endless narrative of feelings yet done at what I call “literary distance.” What am I missing? Prove me wrong!

I like the octo’s voice best.

So far it’s for reading in the pooper. I can only take small snatches of it. Apparently it’s to be read in one or a few sittings, lol.
Torn between seeing it as a prose poem and over rated random words.
Hmmm.

Light hearted voice like an Emily Henry. Guess I’ve been spoiled by more literary ones. We’ll see how this plays.

I have an ARC. I will not comment on formatting or edit issues as the opening pages request.
