I have to appreciate a book that introduces a jaw-dropping scene out of nowhere.

DNF @ 25%
The premise sounds good, but can't stand the characters.

"When people hurt bad enough, they’ll grab any idea to make their own lives better, no matter how illogical [...] And they’re quite alluring in their promises"

I was only a quote and a prologue in and I knew this book will devastate me. I think this book would ruin me in any timeline I read it, but with our current social political climate...it's just so unbearably raw.

I am deeply intrigued but struggling through this book. The prose and concepts are dense and there's too much bouncing between characters to feel connected with them...strongly considering a DNF
