Wow... that shopping trip was super racist

I'm tempted to abandon this book, but I really want to know why the main character is so disgraced. Right now, I don't really find any characters likable, especially the main character. The only one I kind of like is Matilda, but I'm only seeing her in flashbacks so it's not the same.

I just listened to I Have No Mouth and I Must Scream. Horrifying. The misogyny was a hard listen, but it also highlighted the extreme darkness that exists inside of 5 people who have been tortured by a machine for over 100 years. The ending was absolutely horrifying. I loved it.

Abandoning. Maybe I'll pick up another day, but I find this too fluffy and not spooky enough.

This book is fine but ohhh my god does it drag right now. It's now too sappy and the leads are a bit too codependent right now that it's bothering me

It's like begging for something but once you get the thing you wanted, you no longer appreciate the one who gave it to you. There's something deep in this story that I'll be thinking about for a minute

Just finished reading Late Returns. I sincerely believe that was one of the most beautiful short stories I have ever read.

If this was any other book, I would have abandoned 40% back :/

Everyone has been telling me to go into this book as blind as possible. I'm doing this. The prose is beautiful, but the confusion of the world(s?) is what's holding me back from really enjoying this book. Hopefully it clears up for me as I continue through. I almost expect this book to be better on a second read.
