The premise sounded interesting, but the story is about a schoolgirl who is incredibly vulnerable and easily prone to tears in all settings, and depends on medication to help calm her as she sees fae around her. She’s obsessed with a deceased author and is tasked with redesigning his estate, but honestly the story and characters are not pulling me in and I’m frustrated at the main character.

I hate it here. Dnf.

I genuinely enjoy it, normally I wouldn’t have picked it up and it was hard to get into at first - but it surprised me with the main characters’ funny situations and dates, the friendships, and the realness of dealing with a parent with mental health issues. Also my heart can’t handle Justin!!

Harder to get through than the last book, I’m sure there’s a reason its not explained why Manon and Sorcha are just plopped into the story without an explanation to who they are with full chapters dedicated to their perspective, but the parts in Adarlan are alot harder to read/get through, I really only want to read about Celaena.

Praying that reading gets me through this cold midwest winter 🤍
