Slow, not much action so far

I'm putting this on hold until book three comes out. So very character heavy, it will be better to read all the books at once.

This goes on hold for now... Very slow but fun.

Really a struggle to stay interested

Finish the first book... Excellent, exciting and hard to put down

Lots of raving about and comparison to top authors. I'm bogged down however. Putting aside to go back to later.

This plot and the writing style is too much like a graphic novel without the benefits of art to keep me interested. Maybe I'll come back to it in the future.

It doesn't take long for a war to start. Many characters all ready appearing and who is on the right side...? All have good motives.

Have to put this on hold. It's just not holding my interest

I hoped to finish this series to the conclusion but it just drags on. Giving it a rest.

I must not have been paying attention because I maked this as read but I don't remember the story at all

It's been 10 years since I read this and amazingly I've retained most of the story. I just never finished all the 4 books in the series.

Only just begun and I'm impressed. All those 4-5 stars were true. Grimdark and immaginative.

I down grading this series to Young Adult and putting it on hold for a much grimmer story. The use of cute characters (flying, fire breathing cat) and a fat, bumbling scholar is nice comic relief but more for the young. There is also a simplicity in the conflict and some less than adult approach to strategy. Well written but not deep.

I've finally put aside silly urban fantasy and am ready to tackle an intense epic if the first two chapters are any indication. Beautiful prose too!

I'm pleasantly surprised with this new author

I could have taken all the points needed to understand the on going tale and made a decent story with half the space. I am not a quitter so on to The Heros...

i can tell when a story isn't holding my interest because i start speed reading, skipping over great chunks. There is way too much BS dialogue and battle description ad nauseum.
