The dialogue is so awkward I refuse to believe anyone talks like this

This world is like zootopia but with magical creatures - I like the concept but this story is just bizarre??
Also the writing is...interesting.
"When her father fucked off, abdicating his eventually..."
Using "fucked off" and following it immediately with the word "abdicating" is... A choice.

Will I finish this in time for book club?

This book trying to convince me that paradise by bazzi is a deep cultural moment is making me question everything maybe I am growing out of YA

I like that the chapters are short

This book is huge

Why is the prologue 21 pages?

Suzanne Collins is such a gifted writer. I am immediately sucked into the world and can visualize everything. Already cried like thrice lol. The messaging in this one so far has been not subtle at all and I am also loving the integration of the covey and other characters we know from the original series.
