Kate Serrano is on page 103 of 200 of One Too Many Lies
I can find that in the book "One To Many Lies" by L. A. Bowen, the character I relate to the most is Paige. she has a small friend group that is very close together and is getting peer pressured into doing things she doesn't want to, I have found myself in this position before. And for lack of a better word we can both be push-overs.

After finishing the book ALWTW I think one of the largest character traits in Salva and Nya is adaptability. This is key to their survival, for Salva this was shown when he had to run from his school to the bush. After this, he had to just had to go with the flow and struggle for food and water while going tot he refugee camps. Nya will also have to adapt to her new life with water, that will be much better.

One emerging character of Salva's is leadership. A great example of this is on pg 81, "He gave everyone a job..." this shows is helping as a leader. He is able to take the responsibility of leading a group and making hard decisions. He is giving everyone a job and a way to support the rest of the group, and when they are not motivated he will make them. Just like his uncle had Salva is helping to save his group.

Sudan's cultural expectations of women are lesser than their expectations of men. This is shown when Nya’s mother is telling Nya that she “needs” teach her sister to fetch water. It is expected of young girls to walk eight hours each day to fetch her family water. She is the one to provide for her family rather than a boy. Aker like a prisoner in chains is unable to break free of her culture's expectations of her.

While reading the book "A Long Walk to Water" by Linda Sue Parker one of the arising themes if persistence. This is shown in Nya's story when she is walking to get her family water. She has to walk a grueling 8 hours to fetch water. Dealing with the heat and the rough terrain, only to carry back heavy jugs of water. Yet she persists through this because her family is dependent on that water.

Kate Serrano is on page 12 of 194 of How I Live Now
In the book “How I Live Now” by Meg Rosoff, the main character Daisy seems to be strong. This is shown in the second chapter, she has just gotten off a plane in a new country with no one she knows when her strange 14-year-old cousin picks her up and drives home. She stays collected although she is overwhelmed due to the fact she has just left everything familiar behind, she stays optimistic in strange circumstances.

The main character Hazel reminds me of myself, but more so of my brother Thomas. They both have a very sarcastic sense of humor. For example, Hazel makes many sarcastic jokes about her health and overall has a sarcastic tone. Although she is sarcastic it is not overwhelmingly sad it is more so funny. My brother also has a very similar tone of voice/sense of humor. In this way, they are very similar to each other.

Kate Serrano is on page 91 of 235 of Stranger with My Face
In the book Stranger with my Face, I relate to the character Hellen. An example is she is new to the school and sits with people that she doesn't know. They start to tease her but she is completely oblivious to the situation. I have moved before and had to sit with people I don't know, I have also been told by my friends that I can be oblivious. So, I can relate to her in this way.
