Well, it definitely makes me want to read some actual Thomas Payne. Also enjoying the audiobook version, since there are so many characters and dialogue it helps follow.

So refreshing to read something intellectually satisfying but also encouraging us to make real acts of grace and encouragement towards people we may disagree with!!!

I skipped over the serial killer chapter. But I till recommend this book. You can start to see a few concepts of his other books in these short stories. Especially blink.

Well the first chapter was great. It felt almost like c.S. Lewis, with paradigms of life being illustrated by animals / similes… but by ch. 5-6 it just felt like tabloid/ name calling. I don’t care to hear the author angrily reading aloud quotes by people he disagrees with... I can just turn on the news for that. Yuck.

In that sense, I would not recommend it. But you should still read ch. ONE. It’s inspired.

Each chapter is its own standalone concept in this book. I just got through * what the dog saw * and wow! I can see why it’s the title idea for this. 💡
This author blends abstract observations about people’s perception, humanity, why we behave the way we behave a little bit of social studies, real stories, case studies, anecdotal ideas, and real choices we make…! No one does it better.

Covers a lot of different topics so far I would recommend it! A good mix of questioning cultural and Christian assumptions, personal stories, and observational insight.

She gets a little repetitive about her own personal struggles in my opinion, but at this point (50% through the audiobook) I would still give it five stars for the breadth of topics.

Ugh. So inspiring already. Love this one. Highly recommend.

Meh. Interesting at first but too repetitive with little glimpses of so many individuals rather than any depth of character connection so far. I enjoyed a few specific stories of the girls, but wanted more overlap or overarching development throughout. The stories were not cohesive enough from one to the next.

Awesome so far.

The story engulfs its reader into the war era, in a world of forest and survival as well as the realizations her main character encounters throughout her adventures. Great.
