Not bored per se but honestly come on.

First Impressions - I wish there was a quick recap of Book #1 in the beginning. That would be helpful.

Please let Ransom & Odessa reunite soon. We don't need a whole book like this.

This is so bad

A blend of Harry Potter, Alchemised, and other books that are escaping me right now. The writing is a touch immature.. Like a 16 year old teenager who has all the answers - Speaks of the "big" things but with no first hand knowledge.

Then there are glimpses of heart pounding masterpieces and full circle moments that make "1 more chapter" into 3 more!

Everyone is awful.

everyone is so unlikable. 2x the speed is not fast enough to get through this audiobook.

I guess my current hold up is that I just don’t believe that Henry is 33 and Harlow 30. Nor do I believe he is the heir to a region(?) and that people follow him.

Slow start. I’m not much for martyrs either so I’m not sure about this one.

UGH! Had a baby before I could finish this audiobook. Will definitely need to borrow again because I was enjoying it

I'm only two chapters in but I'll admit, reading SJM's writing while also reading (listening to in this case) to Rebecca Yarros... noticeably different.

Reading them side by side really highlights SJM's superior writing ability. Are her books unnecessarily long and so I end up skimming? Yes. But they're more palatable.

Andarna just met her "people." Very Divergent-esque. Personally, RY could've come up with something better but a least the plot has thickened.

Romance-wise, it gets worse and worse. Xaden & Violet are so dull. Xaden has not had a single independent thought this whole book. It's all about Violet Violet Violet. Who is boring boring boring.

I'm not sure if there's been any value added to the overall plot with the first 50% of this book.

24 hour audiobook. Good lord. Should it tell me something that there was not a waitlist for this at the library?

This has kind of been whirlwind and not in a good way.

I have never liked multiple POV's so I was nervous for this. My opinion still stands, mostly because I don't like all the characters the same - Some are really boring! Also, I knew this author would want each couple to have their own sweet & significant moments and it starts to feel redundant without moving the story along.

I'm about to either plow through the rest of this or drop it like a hot tamale because I just saw it's categorized as a "clean romance" and that's a waste of my time.

These books are just what I need right now

I have such high hopes for this!

This is soon to be a DNF. A lot of reviewers I follow raved about this book so I came into this excited for an author and series to follow.

The dialogue is BAD. They sound like teenagers. I'm also not really into the dark with a side of comedy. Pick one, especially if you can't do either very well.

I am just waiting for something I have on hold to become available at this point. This is confusing, boring, and overrated.
