Rick Zimmerman is reading The Lost Books of the Odyssey
Found this little gem at the book sale this winter. Seems appropriate to read it now after our study of The Odyssey. Some very positive reviews in Goodreads, so I'm optimistic about enjoying it. Here goes!

The author's dry sense of humor is a nice counter-balance to the philosophical musings on happiness. Perhaps just as interesting as the different perspectives on the definition of happiness and how to attain it is the the descriptions of the varied places he travels in search of these answers. I always love to read about travel!

This wounded vet's story really puts things in perspective. I hadn't realized just how difficult it is for a double amputee for while (two years in the hospital learning to walk? Wow!).

Good stuff! What an amazing and inspiring person! This is going to be a good ride, though wiping away tears while listening in the car is probably a bit reckless. :)

OK, those of you who have read this book--I just finished the OMG section and I'm thinking, what now? There's still half the book to go! Reminds me of what how I felt when I first read Julius Caesar and foundout what happens to Julius Caesar at the beginning of Act III--halfway through the darn story. I'm told the second half of LFA is better than the first, so we'll see....
