Ranami and Phalue are like a softer version of Caitlyn and Vi from Arcane. Their story also has similar themes.
Also, that tithing festival thing is so freaky. The author finally revealed the actual process of it, I didn’t think I could be disturbed so easily but turns out I can.

people did not lie about the magic system. it is in fact intriguing and also simultaneously horrifying, but it a cool way.

why haven’t i spent my whole life reading books like this

how is alice the only author i’ve ever read to write genuinely good, realistic characters?

i didn’t think alice could get any more relatable for me with her characters, such as georgie from loveless, but i have in fact concluded that i am quite literally aled last and frances javier.

i love these characters so much and have barely read anything.

I feel like my soul is being ripped into shreds and then sewn back together again over and over. I am blown away to say the least right now.

I. am. stunned. And also very angry, and also despaired. My favorite side character is dead, under the worst circumstances I never thought possible, but at least I got the most poetic Zoyalai moment right after? I guess you can’t have everything.

Ok I wasn’t angry about a certain tyrannical maniac coming back because it made sense with the plot and lore from the last book, but now another character? I wish they’d let my homegirl rest in peace, why must they bring her back?

I am devouring these pages. The three ships?! Nowhere near as iconic as kanej of course but still. I’m gonna be heartbroken if something bad happens to any of these people.
