Reading this slowly to see if middle grade books work for me.

Pretty creepy so far. Can’t tell if it’s because I’ve seen the movie already or if it really is creepy. I had heard the book was more mystery than horror. We will see.

I already LOVE the idea of "WILL" in this book. The wealthy siphoning off the very lifeforce of the poor and using it to enrich their own lives is quite the, err... metaphor? Is it still called a metaphor if it is just exactly what is happening under the capitalist economic model?

I'm not sure I'll be able to continue on with this one. Just not enjoying it. I started reading something else.
