Just finished The Ice Storm on a friend's recommendation. I haven't enjoyed a book that much in a long while. As I said to him "a steamroller of a book. Lyrical and smart and just so . . . fluent with information, voice, history, melancholy, humor, sex. It has that *something* that you find in all the good New England literary jaunts, where they play at a sense of history and mythologized Americana."
