This is such a strange book. Very well-written but, SOMEHOW, it’s ticking off every trope I know of fan fiction.

Obviously, it is fanfic. But it’s weird to read something so damn … fanficky in a book with this kind of aura? This legacy? How??

This already feels like a rewriting of Equal Rites which, despite being a great step forward in the early Discworld books, wasn’t … my favourite. Tiffany is instantly so much more of a rounded character than Esp. I can tell that this will be what I hoped ER to be
