I’m in tears y’all. I love this book. It makes me feel real sad, but also good and warm inside. The bones. :’)

So far, the vibe of this book is sleazy, discontented, and kinda unsettling. This is not what you might expect from a family vacation. But is it, though? The author foregoes the happy family facade, opting for the insecure undercurrents in a seemingly normal middle class white family.

I am intrigued so far. The intro of GH and Ruth was an unexpected surprise. I hope this doesn’t turn into a magical negro book.

I lost this book in the middle of moving, and its been over a year and I still have not found it. Sooooo as much as I enjoyed the first 2/3rds, I’ve given up hope of ever really finishing it.

I am both disgusted and intrigued.
Going to assume that was the author's goal.
