Soooo 2012 quirked up white high school boy that it’s kinda painful

Not loving how much I relate to Jane

Beautiful and I know has touched so many minds, but honestly sometimes I feel like it is over filled with references. Maybe I’m just criminally under-read, but sometimes it’s hard to keep up with the 3+ different literary/film/scholarly/location/religious/name drop references every page. I understand it is partially for memory’s sake, of the author and those lucky readers who understand the matters.

Really liking this so far. Glad I found it when I did :)

So much better than I had expected, and I was expecting a lot, since Kuang is one of my FAVORITE authors. I love the complex explorations of Alice and Peter’s dynamic, the building of their backgrounds. Journeys through hell are SUCH a fascinating setting to me as well, big Dante fan, so I’m having a ball. Morag Sims does a lovely narration. “How wonderful, truly, to have a friend whose silence you adored.”

Every couple pages I feel like Patti smith has reached into my soul and eloquently laid out it’s contents through the lens of her life
