This is the first I’ve read of Christopher Rice’s work. Where there are whispers of a special pedigree in the writings of Joe Hill, (slight though they are), I haven’t found such whispers here — especially in light of the fact that I listened to The Wolf Gift during the first half...

I started watching “Grace and Frankie” recently. Jane Fonda’s character keeps reading, like a real person er sumptin, and I’ve started paying attention. It might be fun to start my own book club where I read books that “Grace” reads lol.

Love the chapter on Ma Rainey and Bessie Smith, et al. Excellent historical information, but let’s edit our writing, please!!! So many errors :( Are there no more editors at publishing houses?
