if previously I've described him as sb who escapes into Time — to the crevice (?) that has opened up as a result of stretching, freezing, speeding up time etc — then today, inspired by my personal life, I could also say that he hides (and for some reason Murakami always seems to hide) in e n g l i s h ... globalism as a defence against "the childhood", a tool for forgetting EVERYTHING ☆☆ escape from time?
