#20 - Lo! - President Lincoln conducts a trial.

#19 - A Courtship - congrats Faulkner, a story without any noticeable racial slurs.

#18 - A Justice - A continuation of the previous story.

#17 - Red Leaves - this ended rather weird. Hm

#16 - That Evening Sun - Nancy, the Compson's maid, has a fear of the dark, mainly because she's afraid her husband will return to kill her. This story accentuates how poorly people of color were treated in the 30's. A white man could use a black woman for his pleasure, not pay her, kick her teeth out and she would be the one in jail. SMH!

#15 - That Will Be Fine - A young boys obsession with his uncle giving him quarters leaves his innocence in the dark as to what really is happening.

#14 Mule in the Yard - Snopes' mule is loose in Mrs. Hait's yard. During the wild run around the yard, being chased by Snopes, Mrs. Hait and Het, the mule manages to dump ashes in the cellar setting Mrs. Hait's house on fire. I took this story to be amusing. Mrs Hait reminds me of my grandmother.

#13-Uncle Willy - A 14 year old unnamed boy narrates the story of Uncle Willy. While the town & Willy's sister try to cure him of his sins, the teenager thinks Uncle Willy is living his best life.

#12 Elly - A young promiscuous girl, her grandmother, who she seems to hate, A young man, who her grandmother believes to have, racial slur, blood. If WF could tell one story without racial epithets?

#11 - Death Drag - 3 gentlemen fly in to town in hopes of making some money doing air tricks. One is lucky to be alive. Not much of a story to me.

#10 Dry September - A disturbing story leading up to the killing of a black man accused of raping a white woman. It didn't even seem to matter if it was true or not. Sad.

#9 Cent aur in Brass - Flem Snopes, the con man, gets conned.

#8 Hair - A rather creepy, some may say, perverted story about a barber who begins cutting a 5 year old girls hair, watches her coming from and going to school from the barbershop window, pays for her haircut from his own pocket, buys her Christmas presents each year and eventually ends up marrying.

#7 A Rose for Emily - I had a feeling it might end that way.
