Liz is starting In the Unlikely Event
Audiobook - not really enjoying this. I find it is dragging and losing my interest. Giving up on it.

Liz is starting The Knife of Never Letting Go (Chaos Walking, #1)
Audiobook. This was more violent, relentless and grim than I expected, and it doesn’t resolve as it’s the first in a trilogy. Bit disappointed, but that’s probably mainly because it didn’t match what I was looking for!

Liz is starting Every Step an Arrival: A 90-Day Devotional for Exploring God's Word
Generally I really enjoy Eugene Peterson’s writing and theology, but these devotionals that have been collected from his works were just a bit too short and piecemeal for me - didn’t really dig deep or hang together as well as I like things to. Probably would be helpful for some, but not really my thing.

Liz is starting Roadside Sisters
Didn’t really find this engaging. Had to return it to the library before I’d finished but I didn’t really mind.

Liz is starting The Good Women of China: Hidden Voices
Although I really liked the premise of this book, I actually found it a bit depressing. I think I just wasn't in the mood, and as I had to return it to the library, I am giving up!

I give up! I picked up this book second hand as I knew Bryce Courtenay is a well known Australian author. I enjoyed the first half and then persevered through another quarter but I found once the children’s crusade part set in, I really didn’t care about the characters any more and had had enough of them! Hate not finishing books but life is too short!!

Liz is starting Pigeon English
Touted as something fans of Room and The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night time would enjoy, I had high hopes for this. After a few chapters though, I've decided holidays are too short to read something you're not enjoying. I found the narrator to be hard going and the style difficult. Maybe if I wasn't on holiday, but I can't bring myself to carry on 😟

Liz is 53% done with The White Queen (The Plantagenet and Tudor Novels, #2)
Giving up on this half way through. I thought it would be interesting as I quite like the period of history, but I find I don't care about the characters and I know that it'll all just keep going for centuries! Life is too short!
