I'll be sad when this book is over. At first I was frustrated with how slow and long this book is, but now I'm relishing every (loooong) sentence. Many scenes take place in the middle of the night, which is exactly when I get to read this! When my baby wakes me up and I can't get back to sleep, I read my kindle. This book and the characters Amand and Julienne are my nighttime companions, and I love them.

Taking a pause on this because I REALLY don't like the way this audiobook is narrated. The tone is all wrong, and I'm afraid it's impacting how I feel about this book. I need to find a better version before continuing. Or just read it physically.

Being in the middle of raising a toddler myself, it is painfully obvious to me that this author does not have children. Little details are bugging me. Clementine didn't eat solid foods until she weaned? Natalie has no idea what mastitis is? Natalie has no trouble at all, no pain or discomfort, breastfeeding? She just thinks it's tedious? Yeah, no.
