As a fan of the readwithcindy channel, I want to go in with an open mind while also having clear, non-rose tinted glasses. So far:

- The concept is neat!
- Lots of telling-esp about how characters feel.
- Not sure how I like some descriptions (ex. "eyes the color of sea glass."

*These gripes aren't worth crying over, prose and metaphor gripes are in every book I read, and the plot will tell if I feel bad about it

If I wanted to read Marilyn Monroe quotes I would reread her autobiography.

Ugh.

This is a fine book. But this is so not a true crime thriller. It is a biography. And as someone who's read a LOT of Marilyn Monroe Biographies, this isn't adding anything that hasn't already been said. Oh sure, we know she knew who her father was now. We've known since that documentary.

What else? 150 pages in, and I know all this already. What does this book add on discussions about Marilyn? Just air.

I love Fitz, but man is it sometimes frustrating to read his POV!

I am so tired of all this love triangle business with every character, especially Rand. I get it, you’re the chosen one and you’re hot and all the women like you. Can we please move on?

Epic brought me here, but hey, so far it's an enjoyable read.

I like this one more cause it focuses more on the girls.

BS knows how to write plot twists OMG

So I’ve read a lot of Brandon Sanderson books. I really enjoy his writing. And I am aware that these secret projects were more so written for him and his wife then for his phantom. I appreciate that, and I appreciate that this author is still experimenting it really shows a love for this craft.
That being said., This was probably the worst of the book. I’ve read by Brandon Sanderson.

I really liked main romance. At first it starts off really rocky and you can understand both peoples point of view but as the story progresses, you see the relationship naturally get better. it’s not rushed-the situation is too difficult for them to just make up-and I just like how they handled such a complicated situation, and how two people are trying to get through it despite the big issues within it.

This is a pretty standard romance. If you want to try a queer Holiday romance and are used to the mechanics of the romance genre you’ll get what you want from this book but if you want some thing different it’s not going to be for you.
