Clare Pooley is trying to make me like Piers, which would be working better if there weren’t chapters from his POV; she’s completely changing everything about him including his internal monologue, presumably because she made him so irredeemably awful in the first few chapters that the only way to move on is just to forget what he used to be like entirely

Still struggling to figure out who everyone on the cover is actually supposed to be

Only on page 39 and I'm already annoyed at the amount of times Rafia has called Frey 'little sister'. I swear it's been about 5 times already. Noone says this in real life!

'Their oldest son goes to school in Genève. Or didn't you know that?'
I shake my head. Because I didn't know the Palafoxes had a son.

Calling it right now - there's going to be a romance subplot with the son!

Not liking it, maybe because of the old-fashioned writing style. I''l pick it up again sometime, but not in the mood now

Not enjoying it right now. I think it's more for an older audience, so maybe that's why. I'm going to officially DNF after weeks of not reading it, but I'd still consider picking it up again

2:17:09 into the audiobook. Just not feeling like reading it, and I only have 1 day left until it returns so I'm going to return it early. I think I would enjoy it more if I was reading a physical copy, but I don't like the format or the way it's being read.

Page 87- "...there would be more air pollution. Twenty minutes later, after I had finished explaining precisely how little damage is being done to the world by man and his machines..."

Page 106- "a fat family had managed to find some chips, you could put people like that on the moon and within 15 minutes they would find a deep-fat frier" Um, rude much?
