Struggled to care about the characters and found the story a bit disturbing but I like the ending. Not enough to recommend it to anyone else though.

Intriguing mystery but subject was tough. Silence of the lambs like. Wouldn’t recommend unless someone likes thrillers.

The story definitely was interesting enough to keep me engaged in until the end, but it also seemed totally ridiculous so I found myself angry at the storyline for most of us on behalf of the book. Not mad I read it, but definitely wouldn’t recommend because I thought the storyline was so unbelievable.

Did not like this book. Didn’t find the characters very compelling, and the topic felt as boring as my own life. Going through menopause, being in the sandwich, generation, dealing with aging parents, etc. Nothing fun or insightful about the book.

The storyline and mystery are definitely compelling and make the book interesting but I find some of it utterly unbelievable. Like the fact that a father would let his teenage son go out in a zodiac boat in the Arctic Ocean to listen to whales and then that same Zone would just choose to spend the night somewhere else when of course, that would make the dad think that he had capsized and died?

Loved it. It is delightful. Once I realized this series should be read like a play, I enjoyed it quite a bit.

In the beginning I was frustrated that a few of the characters are charactatures/one-dimensional. But the core story is of a wonderfully complicated friendship between four people wrapped in delicious prose.

Delightful writing and I have loved how the characters of their relationships have slowly built over seven books.
