Having a really hard time getting through this one. Parts read like a dark satire about upper academia and being a PhD student. I enjoy those parts and they typically push the plot along. But there are SO many asides about different theories and books and philosophers that it often reads like a pretentious laundry list of Kuang’s intelligence…
