Don't laugh at me lol...this is so good so far. Once we got over the awkward introduction to the story at the beginning and now everything is finally in motion, this has been super fun. I can't wait to keep reading.

Just gotta say how much I am loving the familiarity so far, it's making my heart swell reading about Galveston and how much research the author did literally down to the exact news station we follow here lol. The gumbo diner, seawolf park, night hawks and all the local species...I'm so excited to keep reading eek

I don't like anything about this book so far, but it's the third book I've started this month that I don't want to finish so I'm just sucking it up and reading it all. The characters are incredibly two dimensional and so juvenile it makes my skin crawl. And the way the author describes the outdoors feels like a cartoon. I'm over it lol fingers crossed there is anything redeeming in the last half

Maybe i'm just in a bad mood lol but I hate reading a book where your characters don't feel like real people. Nothing about this makes me want to keep reading, except the words pumpkin spice in the title lol

Thoroughly enjoying my characters, but beyond frustrated with the miscommunication trope that has been going on for the entire book so far. We are 6 books into this series, there's no reason for this cheap tactic. We reached a point at the end of book 4 that ignited the fanbase, and to give us book 5 that didn't help anything, and now book 6 that isn't doing anything either...i'm a little frustrated!!

I definitely need to gush about a lot more later but for right now I just need to document how much I LOVE how often the mmc takes the fmc's hair out of a clip/ponytail for her like that is a very niche favorite thing of mine and it gives me butterflies every time I read it

Okay low key ready for this to be done lol it's fun but it's taking too long to wrap up. 7 hours left and I don't even feel like finishing but I must.

This is so stunning and spiritual so far, I could cry happy tears for how much I missed these characters. I absolutely cannot wait to keep reading and see what journey we go on. So descriptive and whimsical and eerie. I loveeeee it.

Nobody writes a damaged but fiercely strong fmc like SJM. I am so in love with Bryce so far. All day long I look forward to jumping back into this world and finding out where we're at in the mystery. This has been just the best treat so far.

Okay I can’t remember the last time a book literally made me lol, and this one had me laughing like 3 times in two pages. The MMC having a lime green Jeep, having a thing for Diet Coke and nerd clusters, and being a funny bird watcher…I’m starting to think someone is writing a book about me 👀 can’t wait to keep reading

My first V.E. Schwab! So far it's not my favorite lesbian vampire novel I've read this summer (lol) but it's beautifully written. I can't help but feel the pretentiousness of the author seeping through a bit, but I'll keep reading before I make any judgements.

Hmmm, I didn't instantly love this but it is getting better. The only thing I've read that I can relate it too is Ice Planet Barbarians lmao but this one is taking itself super seriously. It's not bad, but it doesn't have a grip on me yet. We will see!

This was draggginnngggg up until right before the 50% mark. Now things are finally exciting enough where I can't wait to pick my book back up every day! Lets hope the second half is promising enough to solidify the need for two more books lol

Just reached the halfway mark of this book and I am eating it up!!! It is far creepier than I expected and I stg I've started closing my blinds earlier at night now after reading lol. I can't wait to see where the story goes!
