If i had a nickel for every enemies to lovers romance ive read where the "enemy" love interest has a sick mother that acts as the motive to push them into academia they "don't need" to endear them to the mc and reader, id have 2 nickels. You already know the rest

Some of the stuff in this book is very good. Some of it speaks to me that doesn't apply, and I think her own assumptions of what the readers may be feeling or anticipating without considering other viewpoints, shows to me that she hasn't experienced the "rougher" side of life. What I mean is, sometimes, while she has good intentions, it is clear she has a privileged upbringing.
