I'm starting to wonder if it's worth finishing. It's realistic, depressing and frankly it's starting to get boring. I'll give it another 100 pages.

And now, Enchanter's Endgame. I enjoy rereading these every 2-3 years. I'm not sure why some classify the books as Young Adult. True, there's no swearing, bad words or anything of an overtly sexual nature so children of any age can read them, but the themes ARE mature...the characters are well rounded and detailed within a large story.

It gets more amusing as the story advances. Love the characters.

Okay, she's walked the wild side in her youth. Blunt, in your face and honest.

Quite fascinating and unnerving to think how large the US data collection bureaucracy actually is.

Slow start, but the humour is good.

FINALLY, a clear explanation about the Bad Guys[TM]. Well done Mr Weber.

Usual Weber: VERY verbose characters, which gets tedious after what, 20+ novels in the Manticore universe...he gets a save for the action scenes AND his characters: Anton Zilwicki and Victor Cachat are the best spy duo since Napoleon Solo and Ilya Kuryakin (Man from U.N.C.L.E. - look them up, junior)

The more I read, the greater the dichotomy: on the one hand, the Waffen SS were formidable soldiers...but also idiological savages who destroyed lives without a care.

Being of Arab descent makes for a fascinatingly different cultural viewpoint...an eye opener.

Interesting history, especially her early years and family influences

It's been a crap year (2021), covid19 notwithstanding, so I stayed away from non-fiction. This subject matter is thoroughly dissected and raw at times. Unusual military book, not as easy to read as others.

Some of the stories were exceptional. Most were good. In such a large anthology, there are bound to be a few bad stories with poor writing. Overall a very good purchase considering the low price.

I finished this a while back. It was entertaining. Not sure whether to give 4 or 5 stars...I'll put that off until tomorrow and ponder.
